Sheridan hand-carved journal/cover
I designed this journal/cover because I decided it was time to step up from the plain old covers with no carving on them looked a bit bleh, so I needed to Make something that made them stand out from the crowd. I am a lover of any carving using a Sheridan style carving, they just look better in detail and they tend to make the shading from the tooling stand out a lot more than most carving designs. Without the need to use a paste to fill in the sets and impressions made from the carving. Anyone that loves and appreciates a hand-carved leather item would appreciate a Sheridan carving design.
Ian very happy with the laced edges on this cover. The lacing really gives the cover that extra special unique craftsman feel. The best part is the genuine natural vegetable tanned leather used will age beautifully with the use of the cover.it will develop it's own patina over time with the oils from your hands and the ageing process of the leather.
